With our busy lifestyles, we often eat in a hurry paying little attention to our food or how much we eat. Or we depend on a diet program to dictate to us what to eat when and how much – an approach that is not sustainable long term. This free 2-hour workshop will introduce you to the concepts of mindful eating.

Mindful eating helps with overeating by allowing you to slow down and focus more on portion sizes and your connection to hunger, fullness, and taste satisfaction levels. This inner wisdom combined with the outer wisdom on general nutrition, physcial activitiy, and self care can lead you to new patterns of eating and a more flexible, sustainable relationship with your weight and food. As we head into the holdiay season there will be many opportunities for mindful eating. Through a combination of education, mindful meditation, and other exercises mindful eating can help you gain the confidence to ditch the diet!

We will meet in the creative and convenient space of The Writer’s Center (TWC). Public parking is available directly across the street from TWC in a county parking lot and is free on the weekends. The Bethesda metro station is less than a 10 minute walk from TWC.
